旭捷電子(MITS)與以色列的Waves Audio公司日前共同簽定經銷協定，旭捷電子成為Waves Audio公司在台灣的代理商。

針對消費電子市場對於影音多媒體品質的要求，Waves Audio提供一系列音訊最佳化方案，包括可應用於筆記型電腦揚聲器的Window Vista的應用軟體MaxxAudio，以及MX5000與MX3000音訊處理器。

藉 由整合筆記型電腦的音訊處理驅動程式，並針對揚聲器的特性，MaxxAudio技術採用獨特的「心理聲學原理」音訊演算法則，有效補強了揚聲器音質的不 足，為消費者帶來優質的音效體驗。Waves Audio並將其專有的MaxxAudio技術導入MX5000與MX3000元件中，使其可獨立與揚聲器作業，或藉由主系統的控制來處理音訊最佳化。

Waves Audio公司表示，目前Maxx技術已被Sony、Sanyo、Toshiba、Microsoft、JVC、Delphi、Clarion與 Samsung等公司採納，廣泛應用於液晶電視、筆記型電腦、行動電話與可攜式音響等相關產品。

MIDI over Ethernet ports - send MIDI over your LAN.

You can route MIDI over your Ethernet network, using ipMIDI ports to send and receive MIDI data between computers connected to your LAN. For example, if you have a music studio with several computers connected via MIDI interfaces and MIDI cables, ipMIDI will replace them all.

Any MIDI application on the LAN can communicate with any other without any new physical connections, eliminating separate MIDI cables and additional hardware interfaces and if you are running a wireless IP network (i.e. 802.11 a/b/g) you don’t need any cables at all! This is becoming more in demand, the ability to just establish a temporary local wireless network and hook in the PCs.

隔音斗篷 叫噪音「繞道」而過-Acoustic Cloak

　英國廣播公司（BBC）新聞網12日報導，科學家在《新物理學期刊》（New Journal of Physics）發表了一種「聲學斗篷」（acoustic cloak）構想，據說能讓聲波不及於物體。而這種科技可用於製造隔音住宅、先進音樂廳或匿蹤戰艦。

　在2006年，美國杜克大學研究人員曾製造出一種「隱形斗篷」，以微波照射置於斗篷中的物體時，斗篷會將微波的散射與陰影區降到最低；亦即從另一邊觀測時，微波猶如穿越空無一物的空間，因此觀測者「看不到」此物體。

　而今西班牙一個研究團隊進一步提出「隔音斗篷」構想，他們認為關鍵在於研發所謂的「聲音水晶體」（sonic crystals），這種人工複合材料（亦稱『超材料』，meta-materials）可經由工程開發，以產生特定聲學效果。

"The mathematics behind cloaking has been known for several years," said Professor John Pendry of Imperial College London, UK, an expert in cloaking.

"What hasn't been available for sound is the sort of materials you need to build a cloak out of."

M-Audio被XP SP3給華麗地拒絕了!

M-Audio他們的網站說
如果你裝了SP3才灌M-Audio的Driver
則會灌不進去,
如果你是在SP2之下先灌Driver後才升級到SP3,
則沒問題,
他們建議解除SP3降級回到SP2,
灌好Driver後再升回SP3,
也可以耐心等待他們的SP3版Driver...

All M-Audio devices, drivers, and software have been qualified for use with Windows XP Service Pack 3; however not all driver installers are SP3 compatible. This means that if the driver for your M-Audio device is already installed, upgrading to SP3 should not cause you any problems.

If you have already installed Service Pack 3 and are unable to install an M-Audio driver, you can use Add or Remove Programs to remove SP3 and restore your computer to its previous state. Once your M-Audio driver is installed under SP2, you can reinstall SP3; however, users may want to consider waiting for an updated driver and installer for SP3 before re-installing SP3.

To remove Service Pack 3 by using Add or Remove Programs:

1. Click Start, and then click Control Panel.
2. Click Add or Remove Programs, click Windows XP Service Pack 3, and then click Remove.
3. Follow the instructions that appear on your screen.
4. Restart your computer.

Important

* If you choose to remove SP3, a dialog box displays a list of the programs that you installed after you installed SP3. If you continue with the removal, these programs might not work correctly.
